For many years, a high percentage of Americans have not had the luxury of being able to access detailed and organized financial education resources. For example, the intricacies of understanding how to successfully manage a budget, or reduce or even avoid excessive debt, have been difficult topics for some Americans to grapple with; trustworthy, unbiased sources of this potentially life-changing information can be few and far between, or difficult for the average American to readily access.

Making the problem even more difficult, many educational institutions fail to provide meaningful education concerning basic financial concepts such as financing, interest rates, credit cards, or even fundamental budget-building skills. As a result, vast numbers of Americans suffer in these crucial areas of their financial lives, often overlooking the critical need to include saving for emergencies and retirement in their budgets – until it is too late. In fact, as many as eight out of ten American workers find themselves in the position of having to exist paycheck to paycheck.1
